Product description

UniAstar is an acrylic heteropolymer based monocomponent priming product designed for application on surfaces with high water absorption.

Fields of Application

This protective primer can be applied in the following areas:

indoor and outdoor, on vertical and horizontal surfaces;
to protect gypsum plasterboards, gypsum plaster, gas concrete, lime plaster, wooden chipboards, and other surfaces with high absorption features from moisture;
to increase useful life of products and adhesive force of surfaces, as it reduces formation of air bubbles;
to prepare surfaces for application of wallpapers and paints;
on the plaster, lime plaster, gas concrete and other surfaces with high absorption features to prepare for application of ceramic and marble tiles;
to prevent quick drying of adhesive products and subsequent cracks of applied layers and peeling off.

Application procedure

Preparation of the surface. The surface to be treated should be healthy, dry, clean, and should have required dimensions. The surface should be totally free of all kinds of fat and paraffin residues deteriorating adhesive force.

Preparation of the mixture. To increase useful life of SAP mortar and other similar products, as well as to improve the adhesive force of the surface and to reduce formation of air bubbles mix the UniAstar product with water in proportion 1:1.

Application. Apply 1 layer of the prepared mixture onto the surface using brush or roller. Prior to application of gypsum based plaster (in order to prevent probable formation of cracks due to quick loss of water by the surface and for the purpose of application primer onto gypsum panels, gas concrete, coarse plaster, lime plaster and brick walls), apply the first layer of UniAstar and water mixed in proportion 1:2, and the second layer - in proportion 1:1 using brush or roller (Consumption: the first layer - 80-125 g/m², the second layer - 100-150 g/m²).

Recommendations. If at the time of application of the UniAstar product the ambient temperature exceeds the limits of +5⁰C - +30⁰C range, then the required temperature level should be provided. The product should not be used in warm (above +30⁰C), rainy and windy weather conditions. After use all hand tools and devices should be cleaned with water.

Shelf Life and Storage Method

The product can be stored 12 months packed in closed cans.

Warnings

taking into consideration that the UniAstar product contains complex chemical compounds, immediately rinse it with water in case of contact with skin or eyes;
do not add any substances not indicated in the application instructions;
parameters indicated above have been received on the basis of laboratory tests conducted in the ambient conditions of +23⁰C±2⁰C temperature and 50% +5% humidity. Depending on the actual ambient conditions these parameters are subject to change.
