Muslims all over the world eagerly anticipate the holy month of Ramadan when the treasury of divine wisdom Quran had been sent down to people. This holiday calls for peace, prosperity and equality, demonstrates the triumph of spiritual and moral purity and good deeds. Adherence to national, moral and Islamic values has always distinguished our people. Azerbaijan turned into one of the cultural and historical centres of the Islamic civilization.
In spite of the ban on advancement of Islam in Azerbaijan in the Soviet period, our people displayed resoluteness and will to defend these sacred values having ignored all restrictions. Following independence, all bans on propaganda of these values were taken off, so that people could carry out their duty in conscience to Allah and the religion. Over the years, our nation expresses freely its love for God and faith and practices worship during this month.
